Our Bio
Hudson Chen
Hudson (Haitao) Chen says his love of art and artists like Rembrandt inspired him to study animation at the Beijing Film Academy and complete graduate school in the medium. Then, the magical oasis of China's Gobi Desert and the art of the Silk Road became his home and place of study for 15 years. During this time he called on his background in animation, art history writing, and interest in education, to produce many projects linking eastern and western culture and art. He brought his passion to Harvard University as a co-researcher, and now focus on lunching the museum art educational program with his wife Qi.
Qi Chen
Qi Chen obtained her master's degree from the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China. One of the main focuses of her artistic research is the transition of ancient art into modernity. She has dedicated herself to studying the exquisite murals of the Dunhuang Grottoes on the Silk Road for 15 years. Fascinated by the colors and patterns found in these ancient artworks, she has incorporated the magical properties of natural materials such as wool and silk into her creations. She said, "Using these natural materials to create, this piece of art seems to be blessed by the God of all things, and often brings us unexpected surprises”. Currently, Qi Chen and her husband are organizing cultural and art workshops for communities, schools, and museums, aiming to explore the intersection and integration of diverse cultures. Enriched with vibrant forms of artistic expression, these workshops enable participants to delve into the treasures of culture and art through both demonstration and hands-on activities.
